In a six-chair salon there are always two people who drive revenue and two who just get through their shift. The conversation "you need to work better" doesn't land on the second pair: it's unclear better than whom, and by how much. Gamification turns that conversation into numbers a specialist can see for themselves, without a meeting: how many appointments are closed, how much XP earned, who is currently first in the salon this week.
Where it is in the CRM
- Gamification: the "Gamification" item in the left menu, address
/gamification. Five tabs โ "Leaderboard", "Achievements", "Challenges", "Battles", "Management". - Remove from the menu: "Settings โ Menu sections".
XP and levels
XP is awarded automatically in one place โ when an appointment moves to the completed status. For a completed appointment the specialist gets 20 XP, plus another 10 if the appointment was paid. The award is tied to the appointment itself: saving it again or passing through the status a second time adds nothing โ the XP log already has a line linking to this appointment.
The rest of the sources are rewards: XP for a completed challenge, for an unlocked achievement, and a stake won in a battle.
There are thirty levels. The thresholds are uneven: level 2 is 100 XP, level 5 is 700, level 10 is 2,700, level 15 is 6,000, level 20 is 13,000, level 25 is 28,000, level 30 is 210,000. The last jump is deliberately large: it's not the next level, it's the peak.
The title changes not on every level but at seven thresholds: "Newcomer" from level 1, "Junior specialist" from level 5, "Specialist" from level 10, "Senior specialist" from level 15, "Expert" from level 20, "Top stylist" from level 25, "Legend" from level 30. The database stores a title code, not ready-made text, so it shows in Ukrainian in the Ukrainian interface and in English in the English one.
Leaderboard
The "Leaderboard" tab has three modes: "By XP", "Level" and "This Week". The first two are counted from accumulated XP and level, the third from the sum of entries in the XP log over the last seven days. It's the weekly leaderboard that actually makes sense to show the team: there a newcomer can overtake a veteran, but never in the overall one.
Only dismissed employees are excluded from the leaderboard. Vacation and sick leave exclude no one: what's earned shouldn't disappear while a person hasn't returned to work.
Achievements
Achievements are permanent goals: a number of completed appointments, an amount of XP, a given level, an amount of revenue, perfect visits, a streak, a number of mastered skills. Progress is counted from the specialist's overall statistics, not from an increment, so it can be "caught up" at any time.
Before a specialist can see their achievements, they need to be set up for that person once: the "Management" tab โ "Employee achievements" โ pick the specialist โ "Grant achievements". The button creates progress rows for every active template; pressing it a second time is harmless โ there won't be duplicates.
There's a limit worth knowing about right away: the salon does not create achievement and challenge templates in its own dashboard. They are set up on the platform side, and the dashboard only offers granting them, viewing progress, and everything below. Claiming the reward for an unlocked achievement also lives in the API โ there's no button for it in the section yet.
Challenges
A challenge is a task with a deadline: daily, weekly, monthly or one-off. Difficulty is matched to the specialist's level: up to level 5 โ only easy ones, from level 5 through 9 โ medium, from level 10 it's a mix, and extreme ones appear after level 20.
Goals come in five kinds: completed appointments, revenue earned, ratings received, on-time appointments, and perfect appointments. The first two are counted automatically โ completing an appointment adds one to "appointments" and the payment amount to "revenue". The other kinds exist, but their progress has to be set from outside.
The "Challenges" tab shows the active challenges of the selected specialist with progress and a deadline. Issuing today's challenge and claiming the reward are API calls; there are no buttons for them in the section.
Battles and teams
A battle is a contest between two specialists over a period. It's created in the "Management" tab โ "Master duel": challenger, opponent, metric, goal, end date and a stake. The stake comes in four kinds โ no stake, XP, title, and money.
Three things matter beyond that. First: the score updates itself only for the "number of appointments" and "revenue" metrics โ a completed appointment feeds them. Second: as soon as someone's score reaches the goal, the battle closes itself and the winner gets the stake; but if the goal isn't reached by the end date, the battle doesn't close on its own โ there's no job in the product that closes overdue battles, so the goal should be set achievable. Third: only one unfinished battle can run between the same two specialists at a time.
A money stake is recorded as a separate reward entry linked to the battle. It doesn't flow into payroll โ the payout is made by hand.
Teams are created in the same place, under "Team management": name, lead, members. A team challenge ("Team challenge" in the same tab) is a shared goal for a period; members are pulled in from the team automatically, and each person's contribution is counted separately, so you see not just the result but who made it.
Plan and access
The section is included in the "Salon" and "Network" plans. It's not on the free "Solo" plan or on "Start": the menu item shows as locked, and the API for gamification addresses responds with a refusal โ so the menu doesn't lead where the server won't let you in. A separate access right applies too: without "View gamification" the section won't open even on the right plan.
What to do
Start small: turn the section on, grant achievements to every specialist with one button, and do nothing for a month โ just let XP accumulate from completed appointments. A month later the weekly leaderboard already shows the real picture, and that's when the first battle or team challenge makes sense โ with a goal the team is sure to hit.
