A report where revenue is counted differently from the one next to it is worse than no report. So in BeeSection there is one definition of revenue, and every report that needs it takes it from one place.

What counts as revenue

Three streams:

  1. closed and paid visits, by closing date;
  2. paid bookings that have no visit yet, that is, prepayments;
  3. packages and gift cards sold, on the day of sale.

There is no double counting: as soon as a visit is opened from a booking, the money is counted by the visit, and redeeming a package zeroes the visit amount. Tips are not revenue: they are the specialist's money passing through the register in transit.

Eleven reports

Revenue. The amount for the period, split into visits, prepayments and advance sales.

Average ticket. Revenue divided by the number of documents: closed visits plus paid bookings without a visit.

Specialist utilisation. Booked minutes over working minutes by schedule, as a percentage. Counted by time, not by number of bookings: three two-hour colourings and six one-hour haircuts give the same utilisation. Over 100 % is possible if bookings were placed outside the schedule, and that is a signal, not an error.

Returning clients. Among clients with paid visits in the period, the share of those who had a paid visit before the period started. A client who came twice in a week is new, not returning.

No-shows. Bookings with the statuses "cancelled" and "no-show", with the count and the amount at booking price: that is lost revenue.

Services. Top services by revenue and booked time.

Lead funnel. How many leads are in each status.

Bookings. The list of bookings for the period.

Cash reconciliation. Whether the money in the register matches what was sold. There is a separate article about it.

Profit and loss. Income minus expenses by the register, without internal transfers between your own accounts.

Summary. Leads, bookings and revenue on one screen.

Filters

Period: today, week, month or custom dates. Day boundaries are calculated in the salon's time zone, the same way in every report. Location and specialist are filters. A specialist with the "see own only" right opens the same report and sees only their own numbers.

Which plan has what

Revenue, bookings, services, summary and cash reconciliation are on every plan: the answer to "how much did we earn and what did we sell" cannot be sold separately from the register. Utilisation, returning clients, average ticket, no-shows and the lead funnel come with the Salon plan.

Reports are shown on screen; the data itself can be exported to CSV or Excel through the import and export section.
