Search in the CRM: typos, any word order, Russian letters instead of Ukrainian

“electro face 30” finds “Електро обличчя 30 хв”, “Ольаг” finds Olha, and “laser epilation underarms” finds “Лазер пахви”. How search works in BeeSection and where it is.

A salon price list has dozens of similar names: “Електроепіляція обличчя — 1 година”, “Електро обличчя 60 хв”, “Обличчя повністю”. The administrator types in Russian, the specialist in Ukrainian, someone abbreviates, someone mistypes a letter. BeeSection search is built for exactly this: search the way that's convenient, not the way it was written.

  • Global search — the bar at the top of every page. Searches clients, appointments, services, staff, leads and tasks at once. Clicking a result opens the card.
  • List search — the field above the list of clients, leads, tasks and other sections. Searches that section only.
  • Dropdowns — choosing a service, client or specialist in an appointment. Start typing and the list narrows.

What search does everywhere

Words in any order. “Ivanova Olena” finds Olena Ivanova even when first and last name are stored in different fields. “обличчя електро 30” finds “Електро обличчя 30 хв”.

Part of a word. Just start typing: “cons” finds “Consultation”, “Ol” finds every Olha.

Typos. “Ольаг” finds Ольга, “конмультація” finds “Консультація”. A mistake in the first letter isn't corrected: it's rare, and without this rule there would be too many results. Very short words, under four letters, aren't corrected either — any “typo” there is already another word.

What service search also does

Services are searched in global search, in the service picker of an appointment and on the Services page. Here search knows more, because every salon's price list is its own and names vary wildly.

Russian and Ukrainian letters. е and є, и and і, г and ґ count as the same, and the apostrophe is optional. “электро” and “електро”, “объем” and “об'єм” find the same thing.

Synonyms. Search knows that “лицо”, “обличчя” and “face” are the same, as are “воск” and “віск”, “голени” and “гомілки”, “сахарная” and “шугаринг”, “min” and “хв”. So “electro face 30” finds “Електро обличчя 30 хв”, and “воск голени” finds “Віск гомілки”.

General words don't get in the way. “Laser epilation underarms” finds “Лазер пахви” even though “epilation” isn't in the name. Words like “epilation”, “procedure”, “service”, “zone” may be missing from the name as long as the other words match.

Numbers are exact. “30” finds “30 хв” but not “130” or “60”. Otherwise searching for minutes would return half the price list.

Appointments

Appointments are found by the client's name and phone, the service name and the comment. “Ivanova laser” finds Ivanova's laser appointments.

If something isn't found

  • The service is turned off. Inactive services show up in global search, but at the end. They're not in the service picker for a new appointment — on purpose.
  • A new service appears in the appointment picker right after saving. If the app has been open for a long time, reload the page.
  • You're searching in the wrong section. The client list search only finds clients. To find everything at once, use global search at the top.
